The Princess and the Frog

Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief
Taken from Rick Riordan's book about a 12 year old demi-god, the big screen adaptation of Percy Jackson follows the teenage son of Poseidon (played with suitable magnificence by Rome's Kevin McKidd) who is accused by long-lost uncle Zeus (Sean Bean) of stealing his fiercest weapon – the lightning bolt. Setting out to prove his innocence, and rescue his kidnapped mum from the clutches of Hades (played as Saxondale Jr. by Steve Coogan), Percy must facing off against various ancient foes.

The Lovely Bones
The story of a young girl who is murdered by a soft-spoken serial-killer in the neighbourhood. After death, instead of ‘moving on’, she continues to linger and observes how her family deals with the tragedy and tries to apprehend her killers while he skillfully covers his tracks, misleads the police and prepares to spring his trap on another innocent soul.

The story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.

The Crazies
Breck Eisner's remake of the George A. Romero classic (the legendary horror director's personal favourite) finds the Iowan town of Odgen Marsh under siege from its denizens after its water supply is contaminated with a deadly toxin. As the townspeople murder, pillage and generally run amok, it's up to a small band of uncontaminated folk (led by the sheriff - played by Timothy Olyphant) to fight for survival.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel
David Seville sends Alvin, Simon, and Theodore off to school, saying it's good for them. Little did he know, the Chipmunks feel like Chipmunks Out of Water because of all the (human) kids around. Meanwhile, Ian Hawke (after the loss of the Chipmunks dealt him a serious blow) searches the world for animals who can sing and dance. He happens upon the Chipettes and cannot wait to make them famous and get revenge on the Chipmunks.

Astro Boy
Doctor Tenma creates an advanced Robot, Toby, in the image of his son who died in an accident in the doctor's lab. When the doctor tries to dismantle the robot, Toby succeeds in running away. In Metro City, with his powers, Toby becomes both a friend and enemy to many and finds himself in a battle with Stone, the city's militaristic president who is determined to absord Toby's powers.

From Paris With Love
A veteran, gun-toting FBI agent named Charlie Wax, and an American embassy official in Paris, James Reece, are caught up in a terrorist plot. Wax leads a somewhat reluctant James on a shooting spree through the Parisian underworld but when James discovers that he is a target of the same crime ring they are trying to bust, he realizes there is no turning back...

Leap Year
An uptight woman travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on February 29th - the only day, according to Irish tradition, where a woman can invite a man to marry. When the crazy and unpredictable Irish weather thwarts her mission she enlists the help of a surly inn-keeper to help her on her way.

Crazy Heart
Bad Blake is a down-and-out country music singer who's just had too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one drink too many. But he can't help try turn his life around with the help of Jean, a journalist with whom he develops a relationship, a woman who discovers the real man behind the musician. Due to Bad's drinking problems, this relationship too proves a difficult one though eventually, he is able to to overcome his troubles.

Social worker Emily Jenkins (Renee Zellweger) thinks she has seen it all until she meets her newest, most mysterious case, troubled 10-year old Lilith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland). Emily's worst fears are confirmed when the parents try to kill Lilith, their only daughter. Emily saves her and decides to take her in herself until the right foster family comes along, only to find out the girl isn't nearly as innocent as she thought.

Valentine's Day
It's Valentine's, Actually. A starry ensemble cast play out the most romantic day of the year – with couples ranging from the normal-seeming Anne Hathaway and Topher Grace, the annoyingly perfect (the now defunct Taylor Squared) to verging on the ridiculous (Jessica Alba and wisecracking florist Ashton Kutcher), through the cutesie pairing of a small boy in love with his primary school teacher (played by Jennifer Garner). As the intertwining stories unfold, break-ups, make-ups and inadvisable hook-ups between the 10 LA residents ensue.

Stuck together, they embark on an adventure in an attempt to realise their individual dreams.

My Name Is Khan
Rizwan Khan, an Indian Muslim who suffers from the Asperger syndrome, grew up in Mumbai but moves to San Francisco to live with family members when he reaches adulthood. He falls in love with Mandira and the two eventually marry. This initially happy tale takes a twist when the events of 9/11 take place and the general atmosphere sours in the USA. Following a tragedy, husband and wife separate but Rizwan, still in love, wants to win Mandira back but has to embark on a long journey across the United States to fulfil his dreams.

Solomon Kane
The films tells the tale of the origins of Solomon Kane, a mercenary for Queen Elizabeth I. Fighting for Her Majesty in Africa, he has an encounter with the demon, The Reaper, and realises, to his horror, that either he must seek redemption or have his soul damned to hell. On his return to England, he starts leading a life of peace but the evil-doings of a sorcerer upset his plan and he is forced to take up arms.

Monsters vs. Aliens
Susan Murphy's wedding day takes a turn for the bizarre when she is hit by a piece of space rock and, swiftly after, grows to a height of 50-feet. Taken to a secret government base and re-named Ginormica, she is locked up with a small clan of other strange 'monsters'. The public is never supposed to know of their existence. That is until a maniacal alien comes to Earth to retrieve the substance that changed Susan; an alien that only the monsters can stop.

The Wolfman
Lawrence Talbot, an actor in America, returns to his English home after the death of his brother. There he is bitten by a wolf, which passes on a curse, turning him into the wolfman under the moon's gaze. But this proves to be only the start of his troubles as family feuds and resentments rear their ugly heads.

Doubt
Sister Aloysius Beauvier (Meryl Streep) is a strict disciplinarian who rules the hallways of a catholic school in 1960s The Bronx. When the liberal and charismatic Father Flynn (Philip Seymour Hoffman) joins the staff, the two instantly clash over their diametrically opposing idealogies. Sister Aloysius sees an opportunity to rid herself of her opponent when the young and naive Sister James (Amy Adams) reports to her superior a vague suspicion that Father Flynn is paying perhaps a little too much personal attention to the school's first black student. Now, without a shard of proof besides her moral certainty, Sister Aloysius sets into motion a chain of events that will have massive consequences for all involved.
