The Spiderwick Chronicles
An adaptation of the beloved 5 part series of childrens' books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, “The Spiderwick Chronicles” is a fantasy adventure following the Grace family. The twins Simon and Jared and their older sister Mallory move away from New York to a secluded house on the Spiderwick Estate, owned by the children's great great uncle Arthur Spiderwick. Before long things start to disappear and odd accidents around the house become more and more regular; the adventurous and short-tempered Jared gets the blame for the unexplained occurences. It is not until he explores further with his brother and sister that the truth begins to unfold; there is a fantastical whole other world of faeries living with the on the estate.
The Eye
Sydney Wells is an accomplished, independent, Los Angeles-based concert violinist. She is also blind, and has been so since a childhood tragedy. As our story opens, Sydney undergoes a double corneal transplant, a surgery she has waited her whole life to have, and her sight is restored. After the surgery, neural ophthalmologist Dr. Paul Faulkner helps Sydney with the difficult adjustment, and with the support of her older sister Helen, Sydney learns to see again. But Sydney's happiness is short-lived as unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Are they a passing aftermath of her surgery, Sydney's mind adjusting to sight, a product of her imagination, or something horrifyingly real? As Sydney's family and friends begin to doubt her sanity, she becomes convinced that her new eyes have somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see. Terrified and alone in her visions, Sydney sets out to find the anonymous eye donor.

Very much out of place amidst the gothic architecture, canals, and cobbled streets, the two hit men fill their days living the lives of tourists. Ray, still haunted by the bloodshed in London, hates the place, while Ken, even as he keeps a fatherly eye on Ray's often profanely funny exploits, finds his mind and soul being expanded by the beauty and serenity of the city. But the longer they stay waiting for Harry's call, the more surreal their experience becomes, as they find themselves in weird encounters with locals, tourists, violent medieval art, a dwarf American actor shooting a European art film, Dutch prostitutes, and a potential romance for Ray in the form of Chloë, who may have some dark secrets of her own. And when the call from Harry does finally come, Ken and Ray's vacation becomes a life-and-death struggle of darkly comic proportions and surprisingly emotional consequences.
