There are many great musicals which have not yet been seen at the KMT – for copyright reasons, planned film versions, or because of current long-runs in the West End. Rather than wait for years, we will capture some of their magic with songs from these shows old and new, from the latest West End hits to some old favourites. All-singing, all-dancing, all-in-all a sure-fire delight! Book early!
A Redbridge Musical Guild production.

DAVE SHEPHERD and his Dixieland Jazz Band
Sunday 11th May 2008Dave Shepherd’s Dixieland Jazz Band could appropriately be called “all star” in that five of its members have been British Number One on their particular instrument. The fabulous line-up is likely to be Dave Shepherd (clarinet), Digby Fairweather (trumpet/jazz broadcaster), Roy Williams (trombone), Chris Walker (baritone sax/jazz broadcaster), Nick Dawson (piano/vocals), Len Skeat (bass) and Alan Ganley (drums). If you fancy an exhilarating evening of “hot” Dixieland music, this Band must surely be as good as you can get!

2000 Years
Thursday 15th - Saturday 17th May 2008
Probably the first amateur production in the UK of the latest hit play from Mike Leigh, the acclaimed writer and director of such plays and films as ‘Abigail’s Party’, ‘Secrets and Lies’ and ‘Vera Drake’.
Rachel and Danny, a non-religious Jewish couple in north London find their cosy, Guardian newspaper-informed view of life turned upside down when their 28-year old son takes to religion and ritual in a big way. Added to that, are the arrival of their daughter’s Israeli boyfriend, and Rachel’s long-estranged sister who, although a successful merchant banker, destroys every relationship she encounters. It’s a play about loss of belief in religion, politics and society. It will also make you laugh.
WARNING - This production features strong language
A Wanstead Players Production
